Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for Recovery

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a non-invasive regenerative treatment in which patients breathe 100% pure oxygen inside a pressurized chamber at levels exceeding normal atmospheric pressure. This controlled hyperoxic environment dramatically increases the amount of oxygen dissolved in the blood plasma, beyond what even red blood cells can carry, delivering elevated oxygen concentrations to tissues throughout the body, including areas of compromised circulation and active repair. The resulting increase in tissue oxygenation drives a series of biologic responses that support healing at the cellular level.
Biologically, HBOT promotes three key responses: accelerated tissue oxygenation to meet the high metabolic demands of active healing, stimulation of angiogenesis and collagen synthesis to restore structural integrity in tendons, ligaments, and bone, and modulation of inflammatory cytokines to reduce swelling and limit secondary tissue damage.
HBOT sessions are safe and require no recovery time, making it a practical option for patients at various stages of healing, whether that be managing post-operative recovery, a chronic soft tissue condition, or a complex orthopedic injury requiring enhanced tissue regeneration.
Conditions Supported With Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy:
- Post-operative healing and wound recovery
- Tendon and tendon-to-bone interface repair
- Ligament sprains and soft-tissue injuries
- Bone stress injuries and delayed fracture healing
- Osteochondral lesion recovery
- Chronic non-healing wounds and compromised tissue
